Built in 1725 with a substantial brick frame, the Rosewell Plantation House is said to be a hotbed for ghostly sightings. A mysterious lady is said to walk the front steps every night, and the spirits of slaves alleged to have been buried in the cellar walls are also rumored to appear. In 1916 a fire burned down most of the building, leaving behind only brick ruins which are now open for public visitation.

  • Upon a midnight dreary.

    As kids we went late at night years ago, nearly 2 am. As most the group left the front of the house to search the graveyard, my friend and I stayed. Not two minutes after our friends had gone out of sight, we heard a terrible sound like crashing and this roaring, crackling sound. My friend ran away as I stood there trying to understand what I was hearing. It wasn't until the next day I figured out I was hearing the building burn. I believe they call it a 'residual haunting'.

  • Phony Awful Experience

    This is my second post. Just wanted to let future posters that this process is phony too. Be careful when you click on overall rating. You would think it would go from best to worst but not so, just the opposite. Can't change it once you click. They must be Democrats
